I love my wife so much and I don't understand how I deserve to be enabled this much haha. I've been eyeing the Aplopretty much ever since I finished assembling my Nerdy Gurdy, but it always struck me as way too expensive. Yeeeees, I know that the hurdy gurdy I did eventually get and which is my current one cost almost as much as the Aplo shhhh
But yeah, it's in our wallets and she is absolutely alright with it that I ordered myself an Aplo, especially given how it's a seven month waiting list anyway. But not the jet black one. Just as luck would have it, Ancestore designed a natural-style Aplo recently, which actually does produce a fuller sound because the vibrations of the wood aren't being weighed down by layers of paint. I also splurged on getting the piezo pickup (in case I ever get an amplifier to do fancy shit with), because honestly 130€ more or less basically makes no difference when you're paying 2200€ for the instrument itself already. And with the natural look, it fits much, much, better if I ever decide to bring it to a LARP. But that is still a pretty long way off; I'm still super scared of breaking it doing something stupid when I'm outdoors like that, so for the next four or five LARPs I'll still use my Nerdy Gurdy.
"What are you going to do with Count Gurdula, Crotaro?", I hear you ask to the screen. Well, that's still undecided. Right now, I think I'll try selling it on ebay kleinanzeigen again. But it's just as likely that I'll keep it and just play all three of them interchangeably and with various amounts of vigor.
Finally, before ending this post, I want to say that I asked the team how they're doing and they're doing pretty well! They are slowly expanding the team at a healthy rate and I'm really happy for them and hope they have a wonderful weekend.
